Native Plants and Update on Girl Scout Monarch Project

DSC_0340We met at Stony Brook for our April Meeting and were treated to a presentation by several Norfolk Girl Scouts who have worked with their troop 85103 as part of their journey award to create a certified Monarch Waystation Butterfly Garden at  the Norfolk Co-Operative Preschool. They told of their progress and their future plans. We thank Michelle Noonan. Madeline Champagne and Stony Brook Volunteer coordinator Jessica Watson who have worked with the girls their leaders, Mary Ellen DuBois and Diane Cullen.

DSC_0347Doug Williams, Director at Stony Brook, shared information about pollinators that are native to this area and shared with us the plant features that attract them. He had lists available on varieties of plants that are especially good for
attracting pollinators.
