On Sunday September 12, 2021, the Garden Club of Norfolk and the Norfolk Historical Commission hosted the rededication of the Veterans Memorial Plaza Lower Gardens and special tribute to Lowell Robinson, the architect who designed the Memorial Cemetery Plaza in the 1990s. A GCFM grant and donations from local organizations and citizens raised money for a native garden and a bench in honor of Lowell Robinson. About 80 guests and veterans attended the ceremony which was followed by refreshments provided by the Garden Club.
