Dedication of Veterans Garden

The Garden Club of Norfolk and the Norfolk Historical Commission invite you to the rededication of the Veterans Memorial Gardens and special tribute to Lowell Robinson, the architect who designed the Memorial Cemetery Plaza in the 1990s. A GCFM grant and donations from local organizations and citizens have raised money for a native garden and a bench in honor of Lowell Robinson.
13th Annual Cactus and Succulent Sale
Date and Times: Sat Sept 18, 2021 (sale and show) – 9:00 am-4 pm
Place: Norfolk Public Library, 2 Liberty Lane, Norfolk, MA
GCN will have a table on Saturday at their sale to promote the GCN, to provide information on increasing bird diversity in our home gardens and be a fundraiser with a bake sale and cut flowers in mason jars. Members can participate by supplying cut flowers, providing mason jars, making arrangements, baking, keeping a list of birds visiting your garden this summer, and/or making up seed packs of bird-friendly perennials or annuals.
An Apple a Day presented by Nancy Riggs

This program will also be broadcasted virtually for those who prefer not to attend in person.
Join Nancy Riggs as she talks about the apple tree’s lovely blossoms, its famous fruit, the history of apple production and the industry. Her presentation includes an “apple tasting” with five in-season varieties fresh from the orchard. Nancy is a certified master gardener as well as a Tree Steward. She lives in a 1780’s farmhouse with two trees dating back 200 years. Her garden has been on numerous garden tours including the Tower Hill’s “City Spaces and Country Places,” The Master Gardener Garden Tour and Preservation Worcester’s “historic house and garden tour.”

Holiday Baskets for the Norfolk Food Pantry

Join our club members as we share in the joy of giving during the holidays. Suggested items from members’ gardens are cones, pods, twigs, greens, and grasses (natural or sprayed) collected from your garden along with the greens that are gathered from the area. Then we will add our special touches: handmade decorations, cookies, etc. The baskets will be distributed to families served by the Norfolk Food Pantry to wish them happy holidays from the Garden Club of Norfolk.
